PARK MANOR RESIDENT & STAFF COVID-19 SCREENING
TESTING ON JUNE 1ST AND JUNE 2ND
On June 1st and June 2nd Park Manor will be doing a voluntary COVID-19 screening test on all residents and employees. Park Manor current has no COVID positive residents or staff. This testing is being done as a result of the recommendation of the State of Wisconsin to screen all nursing home and assisted living residents and staff as a baseline to begin the move toward opening up Wisconsin nursing homes.
Results of the tests will be provided to Park Manor Administration and Public Health, with a 72-hour turnaround time. These results will be accessed by Park Manor Administration on a secure website. Should a resident test positive, Park Manor nursing staff will contact the resident and their resident representative when the results are received. Results will also be available to residents and their resident representatives upon request.
Any resident that tests positive will be immediately moved to Park Manor’s COVID quarantine unit located in Woodlands CBRF. Per the CDC guideline, residents testing positive will remain in the quarantine unit for a minimum of 14 days, based on their symptoms. Any employee testing positive will be required to remain off work for a minimum of ten days if no symptoms exist.
It is highly likely, based on preliminary recommendations from the CDC, there will be repeat testing of staff and residents to aid in the protection of our residents. At this time the timing of repeat testing has not been determined.
This testing is a positive move toward opening up for limited visitation in the near future. We are hopeful the state of Wisconsin will be coming out with the necessary guidance for this process to begin in the next two weeks.
The fact remains, this virus has not gone away, and we are in a more precarious situation with the “Safer at Home” order overturned. The only way we are going to protect ourselves is to maintain our own diligence in protecting ourselves. Please continue to social distance, do frequent handwashing and use masks when in public. Until a vaccine and treatment is developed we will all continue to be at risk for contracting COVID-19.
Park Manor residents and staff will continue to follow the CDC, CMS and Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommendations regarding visitation and safe social contacts to assure the continued safety of all.
If you have any questions regarding the testing or results, please contact Park Manor staff.
