Park Manor Road to Reopening Update-March 18, 2021
NO REQUIREMENT FOR QUARANTINE FOR NEWLY ADMITTED, VACCINATED RESIDENTS
Great news! The CDC has issued a COVID-19 vaccination recommendation that now allows newly admitted residents that are vaccinated to skip the required 14-day precautionary quarantine that has been in place since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. According to the guidance, “Quarantine is no longer recommended for residents who are being admitted to a post-acute care facility if they are fully vaccinated and have not had prolonged close contact with some with a COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days.” An individual fully vaccinated, “greater than two weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or greater than two weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine.” meets this criteria. Many newly admitted residents who meet this definition will be allowed to have visitors like other residents at Park Manor!
PARK MANOR CONTINUES TO BE FREE FROM COVID
Park Manor has transitioned to testing staff for COVID every other week per CMS guidance. Since the end of our outbreak status on February 15th we are happy to say we have had no positive staff during testing. Additionally we have had no residents become ill and require testing. We are COVID free!!! With the decreased number of COVID positive individuals in Price County, we will continue testing staff every other week. Should a resident or staff member have COVID symptoms, they will be tested. Our testing schedule may also be modified in the future based on Park Manor and community COVID prevalence
EXPANSION OF VISITS AT PARK MANOR
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) along with the CDC has issued new, expanded rules for liberalizing visits in long term care facilities. This new guidance allows us to provide more opportunities for our residents to have visitors. Residents and their visitors will still be required to follow the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention, including screening, hand hygiene, face covering/masking, and social distancing. However, time and location of visiting is more flexible. We will no longer perform COVID testing of visitors and while vaccinations for visitors is recommended, it will not be required. Our policy and guidelines will be revised routinely based on the level of COVID in our facility and county, and as new guidance is received from the CDC, CMS and Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The full set of expanded visit guidelines will be available on Park Manor’s website at www.parkmanorwi.com.
RESIDENTS AND STAFF COVID VACCINATIONS
With the completion of resident and staff vaccinations in February, Park Manor is collaborating with Park Pharmacy to provide COVID vaccinations to new residents and staff. Vaccinations will be provided weekly, as needed, to those who have not had the opportunity to get their vaccinations prior to coming to Park Manor.
Please feel free to contact Park Manor administration should you have any questions. Also, continue to watch for routine updates at www.parkmanorwi.com or our Facebook page Park Manor Ltd.
