With the Coronavirus pandemic affecting so many individuals in our surrounding community, it has also started to have a greater impact on Park Manor as well. As of Friday, October 30, 2020 WE HAVE NO RESIDENTS WHO ARE CORONAVIRUS POSITIVE. This is great news! However we do have 2 consultants and 5 employees who have been COVID positive starting October 2nd. Of the seven individuals, 5 have recovered and 2 are currently in their 10 day quarantine. Six of the seven individuals were identified as a part of our routine testing in October. The seventh individual developed symptoms away from work.
In response to these positive results, because three of the positive employees are direct care workers on the second floor of Park Manor, residents who live on the second floor at Park Manor have been placed in 14 day precautionary quarantine, just like any member of the community if they have contact with a COVID positive person. The dates of quarantine vary depending on the wing and when the potential exposure incurred. The quarantine period runs 14 days from the last day the positive employee worked or was tested. During the precautionary quarantine, residents remain in their room for all activities and meals. Residents will have advanced respiratory screening done to monitor for any COVID symptoms. Staff wear full personal protective equipment (PPE), including a gown, gloves, face mask and eye shield, with all resident contact. The staff who tested positive will also be in quarantine for at least ten days from the onset of their symptoms or positive test.
Park Manor has been in a declared COVID outbreak since October 2, 2020. We will continue with our COVID-19 infection control processes to minimize the risk of any further spread of COVID-19 to our residents and staff. These include daily health screening of all staff, enhanced cleaning, use of PPE by all staff and residents, extra resident symptom screening, increased hand washing/sanitizing, social distancing of residents during activities and limited visiting. Our twice per week COVID testing will continue for at least 14 to 28 days until Park Manor has 14 days with no positive tests and Price County’s positive percentage drops below 10%. Currently the county positive test rate is at 15.8%.
Everyone can help stop the spread of Coronavirus through social distancing (at least 6 feet apart), wearing a mask while in public, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, not touching your eyes, nose or mouth and covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
Please feel free to contact Park Manor administration should you have any questions.
