Hello residents, resident representatives, family and community members,
We are happy to report there have been no further COVID positive test results at Park Manor this week. As you recall, on Friday October 2, 2020, through our routine testing of asymptomatic Park Manor employees, contractors, consultants and caregivers, we identified a consultant as being COVID positive. As a result Park Manor was determined to be in outbreak status and we initiated our outbreak policies and procedures.
Park Manor’s outbreak protocol includes enhanced monitoring of residents who had contact with the original COVID positive consultant. We also initiated testing of all residents and staff twice a week as a result of the outbreak and in response to the high prevalence of COVID positive tests in Price County. Through Friday, October 9th all resident and staff COVID tests have been negative!
We will also continue with our COVID-19 infection control processes initiated in March to prevent the introduction of COVID-19 to our building. These include daily health screening of all staff, enhanced cleaning, use of PPE by all staff and residents, extra resident symptom screening, increased hand washing/sanitizing, social distancing of residents during activities and limited visiting. In addition, twice per week COVID testing will continue for at least 14 to 28 days until Park Manor has 14 days with no positive tests and Price County’s positive percentage drops below 10%.
While indoor resident visits continue to be restricted to compassionate care circumstances, we encourage everyone to take advantage of our beautiful fall weather and schedule a patio or window visit. Unless further positive cases are identified, resident activities will continue as previously held, using social distancing and appropriate PPE.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers. Our residents are very resilient and through their decades of life have experienced ups and downs through war, illness, and personal joys and tragedy. Through our daily contacts with our residents, we are being taught to not fear life, but to be strong and positive in our thoughts and actions. We are blessed to have such examples of courage and compassion at this challenging time. Thank you very much for your support.
Please feel free to contact Park Manor administration should you have any questions.
