Happy New Year! I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we are all looking forward to 2021 being a better year than 2020! Park Manor residents and staff have done an amazing job of weathering the ”Coronavirus Storm” this year. Thank you to residents, staff, family members, friends and the community for your confidence and support of the care we provide at Park Manor. The overwhelming show of support has lifted up everyone at Park Manor! We do see a light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine on its way and hope soon to be able to allow visits into the building again.
First the good new! Park Manor residents and staff will be receiving their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, January 8th. Through a partnership with Walgreens we will be providing the Moderna vaccine to everyone. The second dose will be administered on Tuesday, February 9th. Once both doses have been administered, the science indicates a high level of immunity to Coronavirus. We encourage everyone to get a COVID vaccine when it is made available to them. This will speed up the process for residents to once again have visitors at Park Manor.
Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods yet with the Virus. During routine COVID testing this week, we determine a third second floor residents was COVID positive. All other residents and staff tested negative for COVID.
The resident that was COVID positive was moved to Woodlands, our COVID positive quarantine unit and will remain in this unit for 10 days during their infectious period. The wing in which the resident resided will remain in precautionary quarantine. We also continue with our precautionary quarantine on Rivers Edge for the second week so will be unable to admit any residents to Park Manor until next week.
Until our outbreak is over, we will continue with our COVID-19 infection control processes to minimize the risk of any further spread of COVID-19 to our residents and staff. These include daily health screening of all staff, enhanced cleaning, use of PPE by all staff and residents, extra resident symptom screening, increased hand washing/sanitizing, social distancing of residents during activities and limited visiting. Our twice per week COVID testing will continue for at least 14 to 28 days until Park Manor has 14 days with no positive tests and Price County’s positive percentage is below 10%. Currently the county positive test rate is at 5.7% so we are making progress!
Please feel free to contact Park Manor administration should you have any questions.
