PARK MANOR OUTBREAK STATUS
As of today, Park Manor is no longer in outbreak status. We have had no new COVID cases in 14 days so are able to resume normal activities and testing. Price County has had no new cases in the last week and there are currently only 10 active cases in the county. We are heading in the right direction again!!
VISITING RESTRICTIONS REVISED BASED ON VACCINATION STATUS
This week the CDC and CMS published updated guidelines for visits and activities in nursing homes based on the vaccination status of the resident and visitors.
If both the resident and visitors are fully vaccinated the visit can take place in the resident’s room if desired. While in the room, the resident and visitors do not need to wear a mask and maintain six foot social distancing. Each vaccinated visitor will need to show proof of vaccination (either their vaccination card or a copy of their Wisconsin Immunization Registry for COVID) one time in order to be considered fully vaccinated for visiting.
If a resident or their visitors were not vaccinated, then visits would continue as they currently are in designated visiting areas with masks and social distancing.
All infection control standards will still be followed when visiting. Visitors will continue to complete a health screening when visiting, visits will need to be scheduled and if the visit is in the resident’s room, visitors must wear a mask while moving throughout the building and go directly to the residents room after being screened.
PARK MANOR PASSES BUILDING RECERTIFICATION INSPECTION WITH FLYING COLORS!
Last week we let you know Park Manor had its annual health recertification inspection by the state of Wisconsin this week and passed with flying colors. This week the building survey inspector spent a day at Park Manor. During his inspection, he toured every room in the building, reviewing the physical aspects of Park Manor and reviewing our fire safety and emergency plans and testing. Again, we passed with flying colors. There were a few minor items that will need to changed but our building is sound and our safety systems are good.
SUPPORT ADDITIONAL FUNDING IN THE STATE BUDGET-SIGN A PETITION
COVID has taken its toll on nursing homes in the last year. That, along with the chronic state underfunding of Medical Assistance (which provides payment for 80% of Park Manor’s resident population) is starting to cripple our industry and threaten the availability of nursing home and rehab care in many communities. This year’s state budget includes an 11% increase in funding for nursing homes. Please show your support for Park Manor by signing a petition to increase the state nursing home budget as proposed. The petition is available when you visit at Park Manor and will be given to residents and family members for support. Thank you!
