PARK MANOR CONTINUES TO BE FREE FROM COVID
Park Manor has completed a full three weeks of COVID testing with no new positive tests!! As a result, we are no longer in an “outbreak” status. This means we will no longer be performing routine testing on residents. Routine staff testing will align with Price County’s COVID positivity rate. We are currently testing staff once per week. Should a resident or staff member have COVID symptoms, they will be tested. Until the prevalence of COVID in our community reduces to a very low level, we will continue to COVID test visitors to the facility.
VISITS AT PARK MANOR WITH RESIDENTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE NOW OFFERED
Expanded inside visits began on February 15th. For those who participated in the patio visits last summer, the rules will be very similar to those in place for patio visits. Visits, other than end of life compassionate care visits, will take place in a designated area separate from the resident’s room. Visitors will be required to wear full PPE and be subject to a COVID screening and point of care test. Visits will be in one-hour increments to allow for the screening, testing and cleaning. Our policy and guidelines will be revised routinely based on the level of COVID in our facility and county, and as new guidance is received from the CDC, CMS and Wisconsin Division of Health Services. The full set of expanded visit guidelines are available on Park Manor’s website at www.parkmanorwi.com.
RESIDENTS AND STAFF HAVE COMPLETED THEIR COVID VACCINATIONS
Residents and staff received their second and final COVID-19 Moderna vaccine on February 9th! There were a few more side effects with the second dose compared to the first but everyone came through with flying colors. We will have one more vaccination clinic in March for new residents and employees. After March, new residents and staff will receive the COVID vaccine from Park Pharmacy.
ALL OTHER COVID PRECAUTIONS ARE STILL IN PLACE
Beyond the initiation of visits, the CDC and CMS have not eased the COVID infection control and prevention restrictions related to residents living in skilled nursing and assisted living settings. All admission and exposure quarantine rules are still in place. Residents and staff are still required to wear masks and practice social distancing. We are hopeful in the next few months, as vaccinations are completed and medications made available for COVID, the federal and state governments will allow us to take more steps toward reopening. Until then, we will continue to support our residents and encourage as much interaction as possible between residents and their family and friends.
Please feel free to contact Park Manor administration should you have any questions. Also, continue to watch for routine updates at www.parkmanorwi.com or our Facebook page Park Manor Ltd.
